Renewing your Rhode Island real estate license depends on when you first obtained it:
If you were licensed before January 1, 2020, you should renew it by April 30, 2024.
If you obtained your license after that date, you should renew it every two years on the anniversary of when you initially got it.
Rhode Island real estate licensees must complete 24 hours of real estate continuing education courses every two years to renew their license. At least nine of the twenty-four clock hours must be designated as 'core' courses, including a minimum of 3 hours in federal, Rhode Island, and local law pertaining to fair housing.
