The expiration date for a Rhode Island real estate license depends on when it was issued.

• If your license was issued before January 1, 2020, it expires on April 30th of every even-numbered year.
• If your license was issued after January 1, 2020, it expires every two years on the anniversary of the date it was issued.

Rhode Island real estate licensees must complete 24 hours of continuing education every two years to renew their license. Of the 24 hours, at least 9 must be "core" hours, which includes at least 3 hours in Fair Housing.
